Campus Units That Offer Training
The following campus units are Training@Illinois members and offer training and professional development classes:
CITES provides technology training opportunities for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community to acquire technology skills and knowledge through scheduled workshops featuring hands-on exercises and trainers with real-world experience.
The College of Veterinary Medicine offers a full range of continuing education programs throughout the year for veterinarians and veterinary technicians. We also offer educational programs for the animal-owning public to further their knowledge.
The Training Center’s mission is to provide and connect organizational and individual development opportunities to the university community. Training Center services include professional development programs on management, supervision, and communication; customized training; organizational consulting; retreat facilitation; and coaching services.
CITES Security provides computer and information security training for members of the campus community. This includes a general security training covering an overview of what users can do to protect themselves from security threats and a sensitive data orientation for working safely with sensitive information entrusted to the university.
The Office of Business and Financial Services (OBFS) offers training and resources to support the business and financial operations of the university and to assist units with the use of business systems (Banner Finance, Banner Payroll, P-Card, FABweb, ANA, iBuy) and with understanding related policies and procedures. Online & Continuing Education provides a vast array of services for faculty and students. With decades of experience serving students at a distance and administering online and on-site programs and courses in partnership with academic units, OCE provides training and services in instructional design (online course development), technology (Elluminate and Wimba), online testing and proctoring, conference coordination, digital media, copyright advising, and more.
Public Affairs offers marketing and communication training, including regular one-hour workshops related to the free WebTools offered to the campus by Web Services. Webtools include the Calendar, Blog, List Builder, Form Builder, Survey Builder, and Email+, among others. Other training includes regular workshops on the Illinois Identity Standards.
The program offers Occupational Safety Training to public and private sector employees. The training is some of the most comprehensive training available and is grant supported by NIEHS and NIOSH to provide model courses.
The UI Wellness Center provides a wide array of health and wellness
programs for employees and students of the University of Illilnois
Urbana-Champaign campus. Programs provided at our facility include
mindfulness meditation, weight management and chronic disease
management. Programs delivered to specific departments and campus units
include stress management injury prevention, work life balance and more.
University Library (The Savvy Researcher)
The Savvy Researcher workshop series offered through the University Library is designed to address the advanced research and information management issues our university community faces in their daily work.
